What is Backd
Backd is a social prediction market built on Polymarket. You back real markets with real money, at the same prices as Polymarket, and everything you back is public: your friends see it, can copy or fade it, and your record is verified from what settled.
The problem
Prediction markets put a price on whether something will happen: 58% means the crowd thinks it's a 58% chance. They're the sharpest source of odds there is, but they're lonely. You back alone, you win alone, and nobody can tell a good forecaster from a lucky one, because records live in private portfolios.
How Backd fits
Backd sits on top of Polymarket through its Builders Program. The markets, prices, order book and settlement are Polymarket's. Backd adds the people part: a feed of your friends' calls, Copy and Fade, combos, crews, challenges, receipts and a record nobody can edit.

What Backd is not
- Not a bookmaker. Backd never takes the other side of your call. You trade against other people on Polymarket's book.
