The platform tour
Backd is a social layer on Polymarket. This is the whole platform in one pass, with a link to the page that goes deeper on each part.
Wallet
You bring Phantom or MetaMask. Up to three signatures, none with a network fee, create your Polymarket wallet (if you don't have one), approve the exchange and, where Polymarket allows it, authorise one-tap orders. Your money sits in that wallet, never with Backd. Deposit from 13 chains in whatever dollar coin you hold; withdraw to any of them except Bitcoin and Tron. Your balance shows in the header with a Deposit button. See wallet and security, deposit and withdraw.
Backing a call
Tap a side on any market, set a stake ($1 to $5,000), add a one-line thesis, back it. The server re-reads the price, sends an all-or-nothing order to Polymarket's book, and records the fill. The call is a real position, with your money in your own wallet, and anyone can check it against their own Polymarket account. You can cash out early at the live price. See backing a call, stakes and payouts and cashing out early.
Back and Fade
Every call you see carries two buttons. Back takes the same side at today's price; Fade takes the other side. They sit in the Friends feed, on market and call pages, in crew chat and right on an alert. People can reply under your thesis, and you can add dated updates to it. See back and fade and friends and crews.
Combos and Swipe
A combo is 2 to 10 picks in one slip, one per match, and it pays only if every pick lands. Backing a combo with money is coming soon; for now the slip shows what it would pay. Swipe shows today's ten hottest two-way markets one card at a time, right for Yes, left for No, and builds a combo from your picks. See combos and Swipe.
Live matches and rounds
Live now lists every match in play. A match page is a live match centre: score, clock, an events feed, a momentum strip, who wins, friends in the match and every other market. Up or down runs Polymarket's crypto rounds for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and XRP over 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 4 hours or a day. Challenges put you head to head with a friend on one market. See live matches, up or down rounds and challenges.
Crews and chat
A crew is a private league of up to 50 people with a chat and standings. Every call you back posts to your crews unless you turn that off. The live chat is one room for everyone on Backd: no links, tag a market with $, one message every three seconds, open by default on desktop. See friends and crews and live chat.
Ranks and referrals
Being right earns XP (about 10 ÷ the chance you got in at). Total XP sets one of 6 ranks, Rookie to Legend, each with its own mark and a share of Backd's 1% fee tracked against it. Your invite link tracks a share of the fee on calls your invitees back. Both are tracked, not paid, for now. The Rewards page shows all of it. See XP and ranks and referrals.
Slips and Wrapped
Every call gets a receipt-style slip you can post on X, save as a PNG or copy as a link, stamped BACKD while it's open and RIGHT or WRONG once it settles. Every Monday your week is wrapped. See slips and Wrapped and profiles and records.
