What Backd is
Prediction markets put a price on whether something will happen: 58% means the crowd thinks it's a 58% chance. Backd sits on top of those markets and adds the part they lack: people. Every call is public, every record is verified from settled calls, and nothing can be deleted.
The markets and prices come from Polymarket. Backd never takes money and never pays out. Calls are scored on a notional $10 so that everyone's record compares fairly, whatever they'd have staked.
