MONEY

How money flows

Backd routes money; it never holds it. Every dollar goes from a wallet you control, to an order on Polymarket, and back to the same wallet when the market settles.

TAP A STEPWhere your money goes
Your Backd wallet. A Polymarket deposit wallet made for you when you sign up. It holds your balance and your positions. Only you can sign for it; Backd cannot move a cent without that signature.

The flow

  1. Deposit.

USDC on Polygon lands in your Backd wallet: a Polymarket deposit wallet created for you at sign-up, controlled by your signature alone.

  2. Back a call.

Backd builds a signed order for the side you picked, at the live price, for your stake, and sends it to Polymarket's order book. It fills against real buyers and sellers, at the same price you'd get on Polymarket.

  3. Hold, or sell early.

Your shares sit in your wallet. If the price moves your way you can sell at any time the market is open.

  4. Settle.

Polymarket resolves the market. Winning shares pay $1 each; Backd redeems them into your wallet. Losing shares expire at zero.

  5. Withdraw.

Send USDC to any Polygon address. Minimum $1, no maximum, 5 to 20 seconds.

What happens when you back a call

You pick Yes at 58% and stake $10. Backd asks Polymarket's order book for 17.24 Yes shares at up to 58¢. Sellers fill it. Polymarket takes Backd's 1% fee (10¢) from the stake. You now hold 17.24 shares that pay $1 each if Yes happens. The call is recorded at 58% on Backd, signed by the server, and nobody can change it.

The Polymarket part

Backd is a Polymarket builder: it uses Polymarket's official API with full attribution. Orders placed through Backd execute at the same prices as on Polymarket and count as Polymarket activity. Polymarket collects Backd's fee; there is no separate Backd fee contract and no Backd pool your money passes through.

Private beta. Real-money backing is being switched on. Until it is, every call is tracked at $10 so records, leaderboards and receipts work exactly as they will with money behind them. Nothing on this page is live until the switch flips.
