Something not working?

Most problems have a one-line answer. Check these first; if yours isn't here, tell us and we'll fix it.

Wallet and money

My wallet won't link. Backd talks to Phantom or MetaMask as a browser extension, so use a desktop browser with one installed, unlock it, and try again from Wallet. Each signature request says what it does; approve them in order. A wallet already linked to another Backd account can't be linked twice.

My balance shows $0 after a deposit. Deposits usually land in 15 to 60 seconds. Check the transaction confirmed on a block explorer, that it went to the address for that chain, and that it was at least the chain's minimum. Money sent on a chain or in a coin that isn't listed doesn't arrive. See deposit.

My balance is lower than I expected. Open positions come out of it, as does the fee on filled orders. The Wallet page shows both.

Where are my winnings? When a market settles, winning shares pay $1 each, but they sit as shares until you claim. Open Wallet and tap Claim. One signature, no network fee. See how markets settle.

A withdrawal is still pending. It needs two confirmations: out of your wallet, then onto the chain you chose. Give it a few minutes. If it's still pending, open the transaction link on the Wallet page and send us the hash.

Backing a call

“You can't back a call from here.” Polymarket doesn't allow new positions where you are, or Backd itself isn't available there. You can still browse, follow and keep a tracked record. See where Backd works. Backd never helps anyone around this.

My order didn't fill. Orders are all or nothing, at up to 3% over the price you were shown. On a thin market, or late in a match, there may not be enough on the book. Nothing was bought or charged. Try a smaller stake or accept the new price. See how money flows.

The price moved before I confirmed. The server re-reads the live price when you sign. If it moved more than 3% against you, the order is refused and you see the new price. That's deliberate.

The stake box won't take my amount. Every market has a smallest order set by Polymarket, shown under the box. Stakes run from $1 to $5,000. See stakes and payouts.

The Back button is grey on a combo. Combos are priced and kept today; they are backed with money the day Polymarket enables combo pricing for Backd. See combos.

Your record and slips

My call settled but my record hasn't changed. Records update within about 15 minutes of Polymarket resolving the market. Some markets resolve hours after the event ends.

My slip won't share. Slips are only made for calls set to everyone. A friends-only or private call has no public slip, by design. See who sees your picks.

My XP went down. XP never goes down on its own. If something was corrected by us, it's logged with a reason and we tell you what it was when you ask. See rules and moderation.

Friends and referrals

Someone joined through my link but doesn't show on Referrals. They need to have opened your link, then joined within 30 days, on the same device and browser. A person who already had an account can't be referred. See referrals.

I can't see a friend's calls. Their calls may be set to friends only, which needs you both to follow each other. Ask them to follow you back.
