Referrals
Your invite link is backd.market/invite/your-code. Everyone who joins through it is your referral, and your link tracks a share of Backd's fee on every call they back. It is tracked, not paid, for now; if payouts are switched on we'll say so here. It never costs them anything extra. The fee is the same 1% whether or not they were invited.
How it works
- Get your link.
Open Referrals, from the sidebar or your profile menu. Your code is made from your handle. Copy the link or share it from there.
- Someone opens it and joins.
The link is remembered for 30 days, so they can join later. They're attributed to you when the account is made, and an account only ever has one referrer.
- They back calls.
Each call they back generates a 1% fee. The share tracked for you is worked out from your tier and shown on the Referrals page, with who joined, when, and what they've backed.
You can't refer yourself, and two people can't refer each other.
Direct and indirect
Direct referrals joined through your link. The direct share of the fee on their calls is tracked for you. Indirect referrals joined through a direct referral's link, and the smaller indirect share is tracked on theirs. It stops there. No third level. Volume is everything your direct and indirect referrals have backed, in dollars. It and your number of direct referrals decide your tier.

Both minimums must be met. Your tier applies to everything tracked from then on.
Tracked, not paid
Backd's fee is collected by Polymarket when an order fills and paid to Backd, so a referral share would be money Backd pays out itself, and that needs legal sign-off first. For now the page shows what has been tracked and nothing is paid. Referrals carry no prize.
